For a long time, 42 was the Answer.

The trouble was the paperwork.

In The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, Deep Thought spent seven and a half million years on the Answer. It was 42.

He later said he stared into the garden: 42 will do. Designed. He never claimed a cipher. The word QUESTION reverse-reduces to 42. Found. Two streams. One number. Meaning stays open.
